Plenty of West Bromwich Albion fans have reacted to a message from striker Jay Rodriguez, after he announced his decision to leave the club to rejoin hometown club Burnley.

The 29-year-old was a key player for Albion last season, scoring 22 goals in 45 Championship appearances as the Baggies just missed out on promotion.

Rodriguez has signed a two-year contract at Turf Moor with the option of a further year, for an initial fee of £5million.

The striker came through the academy at Burnley and scored 41 goals in 129 appearances for the club, before leaving to join Southampton in 2012.

The forward has delivered a message to West Brom supporters on the club's website, explaining his decision for leaving the Hawthorns.

Rodriguez admitted that it was a difficult decision to leave West Brom and said that the club did everything they could to persuade him to stay, but explained that the chance to play Premier League football for his hometown club was too good to turn down.
