This season's Championship is quickly becoming one of the most competitive we've ever seen at this level and with the likes of Aston Villa and Middlesbrough seriously splashing the cash, it's set to be an exciting few months.

Of course, not everyone in the division has this sort of spending power but for those who can afford to break the bank to achieve promotion, they're hoping the investment will be worth it.

And whilst there has been lots of coverage regarding the quote and quote "big sides" in the division, little thought has been given to the division's newly promoted sides.

There's one in particular that we at the FLW think will do better than some people are tipping them to and that's Sheffield United.

Led by Chris Wilder, the Blades flew to the League One title last season and they should be high on confidence for the season ahead.

But there's two players in the current Blades ranks that we believe have a superb opportunity on their hands to lead Wilder's side to the most unlikely of promotion charges.

The men in question? Strikers Billy Sharp and Ched Evans.

Of course, they're both very different players who have had different spells over the past few years but what have they both got in common? They're proven goalscorers.

Billy Sharp banged in the goals for fun last season whilst Evans will be keen to get his Brammall Lane career back underway as he left it. It's unclear whether the two will be playing together on a regular basis but whoever is starting games will be scoring goals, if it's anything we've seen in the past.

He got straight back amongst the goals on the first day of the season too, scoring the Blades' winner against Brentford, showing he's not letting up as he makes his return to the second-tier.

There will be some tough Championship defences out there this season but Sharp and Evans have definite quality between them and could be the two biggest players in this Blades squad this campaign.

Don't write them off just yet - Sheffield United might be the team to keep an eye on as the season progresses.
