There’s no getting away from the fact that it is a massive evening in the Sky Bet Championship for Leeds United, who really need to bounce back at Preston following Saturday’s defeat to Birmingham.

Leeds lost 1-0 at St Andrew’s on Saturday afternoon, with Che Adams the difference between the two sides.

Marcelo Bielsa did watch his side create plenty of chances, but Patrick Bamford in particular was guilty of not finding his clinical best.

Now, attention is turning to tonight’s trip to Deepdale, with Leeds looking to put the pressure back on Sheffield United ahead of their clash with Birmingham tomorrow.

Changes could be on the cards too, particularly with Pablo Hernandez a doubt after taking a knock late in the game at St Andrew’s.

The Yorkshire Evening Post confirm that Hernandez has travelled, but he still might not be risked by Bielsa.

Nevertheless, there are other changes for Bielsa to consider making to his XI, and here is a look at two…

Phillips back into midfield

Bielsa opted for a 3-3-1-3 against Birmingham on Saturday, with Kalvin Phillips dropping into defence alongside Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper.

You could understand the thinking behind it, with Birmingham playing 4-4-2, but Leeds missed Phillips at the base of midfield.

Their passing wasn’t right, whilst Mateusz Klich had too much work to do in the midfield on his own.

Whatever changes are made to the XI tonight, Bielsa has to get Phillips back into his holding midfield role.

Roofe in

Kemar Roofe is on standby in case Hernandez isn’t fit enough to start, with the 26-year-old likely to feature in his role in midfield.

However, regardless of Hernandez’s fitness, there is certainly a case for Roofe to come back into the starting line-up.

Patrick Bamford is struggling for goals, whilst Tyler Roberts hasn’t found the back of the net for a number of months.

Yes, Roofe has had a spell on the sidelines with injury, but it is crunch time in the Championship now and he needs to be back in the starting XI.
