With the summer transfer window now well and truly up and running, there has already been plenty of business done at Charlton Athletic.

The club have already made six first-team signings, with Mandela Egbo, Conor McGrandles Eoghan O'Connell, Joe Wollacott, Jack Payne and Stephen Sessegnon all making moves to The Valley.

But while those players now know exactly where they will be playing in the coming campaign, there are others currently at Charlton, whose prospects for the coming campaign may be less clear.

So with that in mind, we've taken at two Charlton players whose future at the club looks to be uncertain, as business in the transfer window continues to be stepped up.

Jake Forster-Caskey

There aren't many players who have had as much bad luck as Forster-Caskey in recent years, with the midfielder having played just 50 league games in the last four seasons due to injury.

Now it seems there is a chance he will not be adding any more appearances to his Charlton tally, with interest in the 28-year-old reportedly emerging from elsewhere, and it understood that the Addicks with give the player the opportunity to explore a move.

With just a year remaining on Forster-Caskey's contract at The Valley, this could be the club's last chance to receive a fee for him as well, meaning a move to pastures new for the midfielder could make sense for all involved.

Charlie Kirk

Kirk joined Blackpool on loan back in the January transfer, with the Championship side holding the option to buy the winger outright this summer.

However, the Seasiders have apparently decided the £500,000 fee they would have to pay for Kirk can be better spent elsewhere, meaning the player now finds himself back at Charlton, with his future rather up in the air.

Discussing the situation around the 24-year-old, Charlton owner Thomas Sandgaard has admitted that there is interest in Kirk, but also suggested the winger could play a part in Ben Garner's side next season, meaning it could be some time yet before it becomes clear where he will be playing during 2022/23.
