West Bromwich Albion are seemingly closing in on a return to the Premier League at the second time of asking after suffering relegation back in the 2017/2018 campaign, with Slaven Bilic having led his side to the top of the Championship after 33 games played.

The Baggies have made great use of the loan market this season to bring in the likes of Matheus Pereira, Filip Krovinovic and Grady Diangana among others, adding both flair and creativity to their existing squad.

These new additions along with a few other members of the squad has allowed Bilic to systematically develop a style of play that creates a strong amount of goal scoring chances, whilst also controlling the game in the opposition's half.

The Midlands based side have spent a fair amount of money on improving the squad also, bringing in the likes of Romaine Sawyers and Charlie Austin, however the fees paid have been nowhere near as much as some of the previous transfer dealings that have gone down at the Hawthorns.

Here, with the help of Transfermarkt, we take a look at the top SIX biggest West Brom transfer fees of all time....

Livermore has proven to be a pretty shrewd addition for the Baggies since arriving from Hull City, with the defensive midfielder's strong showings for the club over the years having earned him the captain's armband this season.

Ideye previously signed for the Baggies back in the summer of 2014 from Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev, the Nigerian striker only managed to find the back of the net for the Hawthorns club on seven occasions before leaving to join Olympiakos in Greece.

The former Burnley man arrived at the Hawthorns back in the summer of 2017 from Southampton. A powerful attacker, Rodriguez went on to enjoy a largely positive spell with the Baggies, notching 33 goals in 90 appearances before returning to his boyhood club Burnley this summer.

Big things were expected when Burke rocked up in the Midlands after arriving from RB Leipzig in Germany, however things just simply haven't gone to plan for the tricky winger as he quickly fell out of favour at the Hawthorns before being loaned to Celtic and now finds himself in the midst of another temporary spell away from the club at Spanish side Alaves.

An experienced Belgium international, Chadli arrived at the club amidst strong expectations after his exploits for former club Tottenham Hotspur, however the wide midfielder was unable to really make a lasting impact for the Baggies, with the club's relegation in the 2017/2018 bringing an end to his time in the Midlands as he departed for AS Monaco in France.

Rondon enjoyed a largely mixed spell for the club during his four year spell at the Hawthorns, notching a disappointing tally of 28 goals during his time with the Baggies before first getting loaned out to Newcastle before eventually departing permanently to Dalian Professional of the Chinese Super League, thus bringing an end to his disappointing spell in England.
