Under Roland Duchatelet, Charlton Athletic rarely splashed any money on new signings let alone a lot of it.

With new owners now in the building, however, many fans will be hoping that this summer will see The Addicks throw their weight around in the market a little bit more.

But what records are there to beat in that respect?

Using Transfermarkt, we take a look at the SIX biggest fees the club have spent in the past...

One of Charlton's more iconic purchases.

The striker moved to The Valley from Ipswich Town for just over £4million back in the summer of 2005, spending two years there before moving on to Spurs for more than £20million.

Known more for his dugout antics these days, Rowett was once a marquee signing for Charlton.

The club paid Leicester City £4.7million for his services back in 2002, although the less said about his time in red the better.

The centre-back arrived in 2006 for £4.8million, and the club made a quick loss on him, selling Diawara to Bordeaux a year later for £3.5million.

Charlton poached the attacking midfielder from Bolton for £5.4million back in 2000.

He made 126 appearances in four years before being sold on to Fulham where he eventually retired.

Tying with Jensen on the price front is Mr Luke Young.

The right-back was brought in from Spurs in 2001 and spent six years at The Valley, making just shy of 200 appearances.

Leading the way in the spending charts is marksman Jason Euell.

He was brought in from Wimbledon in 2001 for £6.7million, spending five years with the club before returning briefly in 2011.
