The Sky Bet Championship is packed to the rafters with teams who have brilliant away support, making this league one of the best supported in the world.

These Championship fans are dedicated to the cause and would go to great lengths to follow their team wherever and whenever.

Week after week, fans from all Championship clubs turn up to games in their thousands and sing themselves silly for 90 minutes, backing their beloved club.

Championship away fans spend thousands upon thousands of pounds every season to follow their team across the length and breadth of the country, but money doesn't matter to most fans, they just do it for the love of their team.

Away fans always set out to out sing the home fans to try and make the game more like a home match and some of the atmospheres Championship away fans create, are something extra special.

Here, FLW's Chris Wilson looks at, in his opinion, the top 5 louadest away fans in the Championship so far this season...

5th - Brighton and Hove Albion

Fulham v Brighton & Hove Albion - Sky Bet Football League Championship

The Seagulls support has been exemplary this season, given the fact their fans have to travel far further than anyone else to their closest game.

Brighton fans travel in their thousands wherever they play and they make plenty of noise too.

This was highlighted last month when they made the 524 mile round trip to Wigan and out sung the home fans all game.

Brighton fans are now earning a reputation as being a well supported team away from home, something they have never had in years gone by.

4th - Sheffield Wednesday

The Owls faithful have had a long standing reputation as being one of the best supported team in the league, which hasn't let up this season,

Wednesday recently took 3,100 fans to Derby and despite the result, were still very vocal, the sign of a fantastic fan base.

Once Wednesday fans get into full voice, whether you're an Wednesday fan or not, it really can make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

The Owls take the atmosphere from Hillsborough on the road, giving their players a boost, knowing their fans will follow them wherever and whenever

3rd - Aston Villa

Villa have one of the best away fan bases in the league and they can out-sing anyone no matter where they go or how their team is faring.

Villa took 4,600 fans to Reading on a Tuesday night, an amazing following, given the timing and distance of the match, not forgetting the fact Villa hadn't won an away game in over 400 days at this point.

Villa arguably have better support on the road than at Villa park, something that will be crucial over the course of the season.

If they can keep the massive away followings and deafening noise, it can give the players a real boost.

2nd - Leeds United

Leeds fans have followed their team through thick and thin away from home. and now they are getting a bit of success this season, their away following has increased even more.

The noise coming from the Leeds fans away from home can be ear splitting at times, and it doesn't matter whether Leeds are winning or losing, their fans are with them every step of the way, making an unbelievable amount of noise.

Leeds have sold out their away allocations on numerous occasions this year and around 3,000 made the long trip down to Norwich over a week ago, a fantastic following yet again.

1st - Newcastle United

Newcastle fans have taken the Championship by storm this season, selling out most of their games so far, including a Tuesday night trip down to London, where they made Loftus Road seem like St James' Park.

The Toon Army took nearly 6,000 down to Preston and took over Deepdale, making some deafening noise that would give you goose bumps.

If you are playing Newcastle, your town will be taken over by The Toon Army as they travel in their thousands, wherever the game may be.

Newcastle are widely regarded across the country as one of the best sets of fans, and so far this season, they may have enhanced that reputation, with some staggering away followings.
