Leicester City are currently enjoying their best season since their title win back in 2016 as the club look set to seal UEFA Champions League qualification this year.

The Foxes are the ‘best of the rest’ with Brendan Rodgers’ side finding themselves in third place in the Premier League, only behind runaway leaders Liverpool and last season’s champions Manchester City. Qualification to Europe’s elite club competition would no doubt attract a better calibre of player for Leicester to sign as well as current players potentially demanding a pay rise.

Since their title win in 2016, Leicester have started to establish themselves a club who consistently finish in the top half of the Premier League table and a third place this season would massively back that up. That title win has given Leicester the funds to give some of the current playing staff large sums of money per week.

Here are the top FIVE biggest earners at Leicester City, according to Capology...

Wilfred Ndidi arrived at Leicester City in 2017 from Belgian side Genk for a reported £15m half way through the 2016/2017 season. At that point the club were still fighting on the European front after managing to win their maiden Champions League group which contained Porto, Club Brugge and Copenhagen.

The Nigerian would help his new club defeat Sevilla in the first knockout round before they were eventually eliminated by former finalists Atletico Madrid in the quarter finals.

Belgian Praet arrived in the summer of 2019 from Italian side Sampdoria for a reported £18m after impressing in Serie A. Despite not making a massive impact during his first campaign in the Premier League, Praet has showed his promise when he has been called along but unfortunately for the Belgian, he plays in the same position as Youri Tielemans who is a mainstay in the Leicester side.

This one will not come as a huge surprise to many considering his history with Manchester United. Evans spent nine years with the Red Devils racking up 198 appearances in all competitions before moving to West Brom in 2015. The Northern Irishman put in a number of impressive performances during his time in the West Midlands as the Baggies continually escaped the trap door into the Championship.

Evans would leave the club in 2018 to sign for Leicester following West Brom’s relegation with the centre-half forming a formidable partnership with Caglar Soyuncu this season which has seen the Foxes rise into a European spot.

Another unsurprising addition to this list as the Leicester City goalkeeper has been a great servant to the club since his arrival from Leeds United in 2011. The son of Manchester United legend Peter, has developed nicely alongside the club and has played his part in two historic title wins over the last nine years or so.

The Dane certainly deserves to be on this list as without his contribution the club would not be sat in the position they are now.

Jamie Vardy has epitomised Leicester City as a football club since his arrival from non-league side Fleetwood Town. Although he didn’t hit the ground running straight away, the Foxes stuck with him and saw him blossom into an England international forward. That decision has certainly been the right one as Vardy has gone on to break records during his time at Leicester as well as lifting a Premier League title.
