League Two might not be the most glamorous of leagues in the English football, or the world for that matter.

With its small and compact stadiums often placed in towns many people outside of England won't have even heard of, it is pretty easy to assume that everything else in the league may not be the best either.

This is not the case however across the board with the football kits that our League Two clubs adorn, and while there are some desperately poor looking shirts, some are in fact cracking jerseys.

All clubs have a home and away shirt, with the home shirts usually the more standard of the two in terms of colour, and across the league, this remains prevalent.

So with this in mind, we here at Football League World have taken a look at some of the strips in England's fourth tier.

Here are FIVE of the best home shirts in League Two, in the opinion of FLW writer Lee Connor......

Hartlepool United

Hartlepool United

Hartlepool have the different method of employing a different home shirt for the league and FA Cup this season, but it is the home jersey for the league games which stands out the most.

A Nike design with a white sash sitting on the base of a nice blue colour, the shirt is definitely up their with the smartest ones in the league.

Pools are often found fighting at the bottom of the table and football fans have become accustomed to seeing Soccer Saturday's Jeff Stelling cheer his team on.

Whether this season will be the same or not, at least they have a cracking home shirt to be proud of.

Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient

Another Nike number but in a different style to that of Hartlepool, is that of Leyton Orient.

The all red shirt dons a white collar which works well with the also white trim on the sleeves, while even sponsor Rainham Steel sticks out in the middle in white also.

The shirt is matched in colour by socks and shorts, making it an all red strip for Orient, and a vast improvement on the kits of previous seasons for sure.

Portsmouth

Portsmouth

The Pompey shirt was selected by the majority of fans before the season started, and it's fair to say that they have done a pretty sound job of picking a quality shirt.

Made by 90's stalwarts Sondico and combining the traditional blue shirt, white shorts, and red socks, it really is one of the finer strips in the league, befitting of a club the size of Portsmouth.

The blue collar with white trim is also a nice touch on the shirt, making this stand out as one of the leagues best.

York City

York City

It might seem biased towards Nike, with this their third kit on this list, but many will agree that York shirt deserves to be on here I am sure.

Similar to Hartlepool in the sash design, the red and deep navy blue combine nicely to create a very smart looking number for the Yorkshire club.

Red socks and red shorts accompany the shirt, and round the kit off nicely as a whole to make this one of the most impressive looking strips in the entire football league in my opinion.

Luton Town

Luton Town

I have gone with something a bit more daring for the final kit in this list, and Luton Town's Orange shirt makes it for me.

Teamed with the blue shorts, and then white socks, you might think reading it that the concoction of colours would not work, but somehow, it does.

One of the only clubs still going to be made by another 90's sporting giant in Fila, this shirt has a bit of everything about it and stands out from the crowd for plenty of the right reasons.
