Sheffield United are starting to show similar form to when they were promoted to the Premier League in 2005, and there seems to be no stopping Chris Wilder's side this season.

The Blades' win over Hull City made it four wins in a row and there is a real 'feel good' factor at Bramall Lane this year with the club currently holding top spot after 12 league games.

The form shown by the likes of Oliver Norwood and the striking partnership of Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick are all reasons to be excited for Blades fans this season.

After their good run of form, fans have been dreaming of a return to the Premier League as Sheffield United last featured in the top-flight of English football back in 2006.

Wilder's side will be aiming to keep up their winning streak with a win against Derby County in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday evening.

But who have been Sheffield United's top three best signings from the last three seasons?

Find out who makes the top three here....

The Blades signed O'Connell from Brentford when he was just 22 for an undisclosed fee.

The gamble has certainly paid off as the centre-back has gone on to make 109 appearances in a three-year-spell with the club.

O'Connell has been a regular in Chris Wilder's side this season alongside fellow defenders Chris Basham and John Egan and the trio are yet to miss a league match this season.

Stevens signed from Portsmouth in 2017 and has been ever-present in the Sheffield United side since he joined.

He only missed one league game last season and has played 11 times for Chris Wilder's team in this years campaign and is certainly flourishing in his role at left-midfield in a 3-5-2 formation.

The 28-year-old also featured for Ireland over the international break and he will be keen to get back to winning ways with the Blades this weekend against Derby.

The Sheffield United captain has been in excellent form for the Blades this season, scoring eight goals already in this years campaign.

Sharp's goals fired his side into the Championship and he has continued to score at a rapid rate in Sheffield since he joined the club in 2015.

He has scored 73 goals in 146 appearances for Chris Wilder's team and is comfortably the best signing Sheffield United have made in the last three seasons.
