Bolton Wanderers are 16th in the Championship table heading into match-day 13 of the season.

Phil Parkinson’s men narrowly avoided potential administration problems thanks to the fact that they were bailed out by a creditor last month.

Although it was good news for all concerned with the club, the off-the-pitch speculation has impacted Bolton’s form on the pitch.

Phil Parkinson’s men have won just one of the last eight league games, most recently suffering a disappointing loss at the hands of Blackburn.

The fans have not had much at all to shout about in the past season or so, having been forced to watch their side battle with relegation for the last few years.

If the form is anything to go by, Bolton may face the same problems this season.

In third place in the list is Erhun Oztumer, who joined Bolton from Walsall last season.

The talented midfielder scored 32 goals in 95 games over two seasons for the Saddlers, and a step up to the Championship was well deserved.

Although he has not carried on such an impressive goalscoring rate at Bolton, he remains a vital cog to Parkinson’s plans.

Josh Magennis was brought to Bolton from Charlton in 2016 for a nominal transfer fee.

So far this season, the Northern Ireland international has been Bolton’s main goal threat, scoring three goals.

He needs to step it up further, but he looks a good piece of business for Parkinson’s side.

Sammy Ameobi is probably Bolton’s best player, or at least the most important. The fact that Bolton’s form has slumped so much in the last six weeks or so is telling of Ameobi’s importance to the club, with him missing a lot of football through injury.

Joining the club from Cardiff in 2016, Ameobi has been excellent and remains a key part of Parkinson’s team.
