After something of a frustrating season up until now, Derby County will be looking for a strong end to the campaign.

Following their 4-0 thrashing at Cardiff on Tuesday night, Wayne Rooney's side currently sit 18th in the Championship table, nine points clear of the bottom three.

The Rams will be hoping to avoid being dragged back into a relegation battle over the next few months, having forced their way clear of the dotted line after a challenging start to the season.

Here, we've taken a look at the 12 players with the best pass success rate in the Derby side so far this season according to WhoScored, amongst those who have made at least five league appearances for the club during the campaign, starting, with number 12.

We begin this list with a player who is no longer at Derby, in the shape of Duane Holmes.

The midfielder made 14 appearances for the Rams prior to his January move to Huddersfield, and averaged 16.1 passes per game, with a success rate of 74.7%.

Next up is another player who left Pride Park in the January window, with George Evans claiming 11th spot.

The defender, who is now at Millwall, played six times for Derby this season, averaging 35.3 passes per game, and recording a success rate of 76.9%.

Shinnie has been a regular feature for Derby this season, making 28 appearances for the Rams, starting all of them.

During that time, the midfielder has averaged 36.8 passes per game, with a success rate that works outat exactly 79%.

Following his impressive loan spell from Brighton last season, Clarke returned to Derby for another loan back in the summer.

Since then, he has featured 31 times for the Rams in the league, recording an average of 54.9 passes per game, at a success rate of 79.6%.

He may still be at the early stages of his career, but Knight has emerged as a regular feature for Derby this season.

It has been a frustrating campaign for Tom Lawrence so far this season, with the Welshman's game time restricted by injury.

The attacker has made 13 appearances for Derby, and averages 24.9 passes per game, with a success rate of 82.1%.

Another Derby player on this list who has sadly seen his campaign curtailed by injury, is Curtis Davies, with an Achilles injury condemning him to a spell on the sidelines.

The veteran centre back was only able to make 12 appearances this season, during which he made an average of 41.8 passes per game, with a success rate of 82.4%.

Another Derby player who can consider himself extremely unfortunate with injury this season, is Krystian Bielik.

The midfielder suffered his second ACL injury in a year earlier in 2021, having made just 13 appearances this season, averaging 51.8 passes per game, with a success rate of 82.8%.

Next up on this list is another of Derby's young midfield prospects, in the form of Max Bird.

The 20-year-old has accumulated 23 appearances so far this season, and has averaged 38.2 passes per match, with a success rate of 83.6%.

Another player to have left Derby in January who claims a place on this list, is Morgan Whittaker.

The young attacker made nine appearances for the Rams this season before leaving for Swansea, and averaged 8.4 passes per game, with a success rate of 84.6%.

Wisdom's recovery following the events of last summer has been remarkable, with the right-back a regular feature on the team sheet this season.

The 27-yar-old has played 29 times for the Rams since the start of the campaign, averaging 43.9 passes per game, with a success rate of 84.6%.

Prior to his appointment as Derby manager, Rooney started the season still playing for the Rams, and it seems right to the end of his playing career, he still possessed some outstanding ability.

During his ten games this season, Rooney averaged 50.8 passes per game, with a success rate of 85.8%, enough to earn him top spot on this list.
