Leyton Orient have had their fair share of players over the years that have featured for the club towards the end of their careers.

The O's are currently playing their football in League Two, and have impressed in recent weeks under the management of Jobi McAnuff.

McAnuff is still playing his football for Leyton Orient though, despite the Jamaican winger being 39 years old and will be hoping that he can play his part in their push for promotion into League One this term.

They're sat ninth in the fourth-tier standings, and will fancy their chances of sneaking into the play-offs before the conclusion of this year's campaign.

They're set to return to action on Good Friday when they take on Mansfield Town, in what is likely to be a tricky test for McAnuff's side.

We take a look at the top ten oldest players to ever feature for Leyton Orient.

Martin Rowlands is in at number eight, with the former Leyton Orient midfielder making his final appearance for the club at the age of 34 years, two months and 12 days old.

That final appearance for the club came back in April 2013, when he featured for them against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena, in a game that they ran out narrow 1-0 winners over the Sky Blues.

Rowlands had previously been on the books with QPR and Brentford prior to his arrival at Leyton Orient in the final few years of his playing career.

He left Leyton Orient in 2013, and after a brief spell with Aldershot Town, he called time on his playing days.

Alan Dunne is next on the list at number seven, as he last featured for Leyton Orient at the age of 34 years, two months and 30 days old.

The Irishman signed for the club in 2015, after a 15-year spell with Millwall reached a conclusion, and he spent two seasons with Orient.

His final appearance for Leyton Orient came against Exeter City in a 1-0 defeat back in November 2016, and he went on to leave the club in 2017.

James Scowcroft is up next, with the former Leyton Orient man last featuring for the club at the age of 34 years and five months old.

The forward had previously been on the books with the likes of Ipswich Town and Leicester City, but moved to Leyton Orient in 2019.

Scowcroft spent just one season with Leyton Orient before moving on to a new adventure, with his final appearance for the club coming against Colchester United, in a 1-0 defeat back in May 2010.

He called time on his playing career in 2012, after a spell with Bury Town reached a conclusion.

Matt Harrold is next on the list, as he made his final Leyton Orient appearance at the age of 35 years and six months old.

He joined the coaching setup at Leyton Orient in the summer of 2020, and is seemingly keen to stay in football as a coach moving forwards.

Kevin Lisbie is next on the list at number four, with the former Leyton Orient forward making his final appearance for the club at the age of 36 years and three months old.

Lisbie signed for the club in 2011, and spent four seasons with the club before departing in 2015, as he went on to sign for Barnet.

The forward had caught the eye with a number of strong performances for the likes of Charlton Athletic and Colchester United.

His final appearance for Leyton Orient came against Notts County in February 2015, in a game that Orient suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat.

Jamie Cureton is the first name in the top-three, with the former Leyton Orient featuring for the club at the age of 36 years and five months old.

The forward made his final appearance for the club back in January 2012, in a game that they were beaten narrowly 1-0 by Colchester United.

He left the club in 2012, and went on to sign for Exeter City, where he score goals regularly for the Grecians. He is still playing football competitively though at the age of 45, as he's currently with Enfield.

Scott McGleish is second on the list, with the former Leyton Orient centre-forward making his final appearance for the club at the age of 37 years and two months old.

That appearance came against Plymouth Argyle back in May 2011, and it was certainly a good game to see out his time with Leyton Orient, as they ran out comfortable 4-1 winners on the day.

He signed for the club after impressing in a loan spell with the club, and went on to feature regularly for them over the years.

But he departed in 2011, and went on to sign for Bristol Rovers shortly after. Spells with Whitehawk, Wealdstone and Chesham United are just some of the clubs he played for in the later stages of his playing career.

Jobi McAnuff tops the list as Leyton Orient's oldest ever player at the age of 39 years and four months old.

That appearance came against Oldham Athletic earlier this month, in a 2-1 win for Leyton Orient. McAnuff signed for the club in 2017, and has gone on to impress in the fourth-tier of English football.

McAnuff has previously been on the books with Reading, and captained the side to promotion into the Premier League in the 2011/12 season.

He is of course Leyton Orient's manager at the same time as well, and it'll be interesting to see what the future holds for his playing career moving forwards.
