After a glorious season for Sheffield United last term, Chris Wilder is set to round the season off in some style by signing a new deal at Bramall Lane.
The Blades were finally promoted back to the Championship after enduring six grueling years out of it, topping the league on an impressive 100 points.
Wilder has wasted no time in bolstering his squad in preparation for life in the second tier though, having already confirmed the signings of Enda Stevens, George Baldock, Ched Evans and Nathan Thomas.
The squad is definitely taking shape, and the likes of 30-goal man Billy Sharp will be influential in spearheading the Blades to yet another promotion push in 2017/18.
One player who Wilder should definitely look to reignite interest in to round off what has been an excellent recruitment period is Charlton Athletic winger Ricky Holmes.
Holmes is no stranger to Wilder, with the midfielder’s form under the 49-year old for Northampton Town particularly impressive at Sixfields.
During his 18-months with the 49-year old at Northampton, Holmes scored 16 goals and added a further 13 assists, helping the Cobblers to the League Two title in 2015/16.
