Brighton and Hove Albion won promotion to the top flight for the first time ever in the Premier League era.

As a result, some of their players will be surplus to requirements.

Brighton pride themselves over their strength in depth in central midfield.

Steve Sidwell and Dale Stephens have both signed new contracts with the Seagulls following their promotion to the Premier League and Beram Kayal is also under contract.

In addition to this, Chris Hughton has moved swiftly to snap up FC Ingolstadt star Pascal Gross.

What does this mean for the future of Oliver Norwood then?

Recent reports have suggested that Brighton and Hove Albion would be willing to let him go if the deal is right for all parties.

Despite having a contract until summer 2019, Brighton could sell or loan out Oliver Norwood this summer with his future at the AMEX looking bleak.

While Brighton don't need the technically gifted central midfielder, he would slot seamlessly into Birmingham City's midfield.

Harry Redknapp probably wants to add one more central midfielder after agreeing a permanent deal for Craig Gardner.

Oliver Norwood would be the perfect play-maker to add some skill to the Blues' midfield.

The 26-year-old is very experienced at this level, having played for the likes of Coventry City, Huddersfield Town, Reading and Brighton.

Birmingham are looking to strengthen their squad and could be tempted by a cut-price deal for the Northern Ireland international, who would provide a great passing range, close control and the ability to grab assists and score from range himself.
