Swansea are thought to be among a host of Championship clubs keen on a January move for Livingston forward Lyndon Dykes, according to TEAMtalk.

The 24-year-old has been good form in the Scottish Premiership so far this term with his five goals in 14 appearances and overall gameplay seeing him attract reported interest from the likes of Cardiff, Bristol City, Middlesbrough and Swansea.

The Australia international could now help boost Steve Cooper's attacking line when January comes around, despite the fact Swansea have looked relatively well-stocked in the striker department so far this term.

Borja Baston started the season leading Swansea's line with five goals in his first five appearances cementing his place in the side, while Andre Ayew has fronted the club's attacking unit in recent weeks, with Swansea now unbeaten in three matches.

Borja and Ayew are also backed up by Bournemouth loanee Sam Surridge, who has rarely put a foot wrong when called on from the bench this season, while he scored the crucial winning goal during the victory over Wigan earlier this month.

The England U21 international is yet to establish himself in Cooper's starting line-up, but it now appears his impressive cameo performances have seen him move ahead of Borja in the striker pecking order.

However, the fact Swansea are now thought to be lining up a move for Dykes in January suggests they are seeking more permanent options in attack, with Surridge only at the club on a loan deal running until the end of the season.

This is understandable given that Swansea will surely want some security in attack, with Surridge leaving at the end of the season while there is no guarantee Borja or Ayew will not be sold in January, which means a January striker swoop could make sense for the Welsh side.

Therefore, Surridge will perhaps have increased fears over his already limited playing time with another striker coming into the club, as this would mean there is another attacker for Cooper to satisfy in terms of gaining regular minutes.

Surridge will have aspirations of breaking into the starting line-up on a regular basis during the second half of the season, and he should keep working hard to try and impress Cooper even if another striker is added to the club's ranks.

The Bournemouth loanee will have the upper hand over any future signing in the sense that he has already shown Cooper what he can do, and this means the Swansea boss will surely be willing to give Surridge a chance before turning to a potential new striker addition.
