Swansea City saw their miserable run of form at the Liberty Stadium continue when they slumped to a 3-0 defeat to Brentford on Tuesday night.

Said Benrahma and Bryan Mbeumo were both on target for the Bees either side of a Jake Bidwell own goal to secure an emphatic victory for the West Londoners over Steve Cooper's stuttering side.

The Swans have now only won once in their last six Championship matches in a disappointing run of form that has interfered with the optimistic mood at the Liberty after they won five of their first six matches this season.

Cooper has tended to limit the changes to his side for much of the season so far, but he has now started to rotate players in an attempt to find his best starting line-up, and this saw him make five changes for Tuesday's clash with Brentford.

One of those to enter the side was summer signing Kristoffer Peterson, who has been starved of opportunities in the Championship since his permanent switch to South Wales from Heracles back in August.

The winger had made just two substitute appearances in the second tier before his inclusion in the side on Tuesday, with his only other experiences in the Swans' starting line-up coming during their League Cup run.

Peterson could not prevent Cooper's side from slipping to a disappointing midweek defeat during his outing on the left wing, but the Sweden international's performance was perhaps the only positive Swansea could take away from the match.

The 24-year-old posed a serious threat on the channel and was unfortunate to have not found the net or provided an assist during an otherwise off-colour performance from the Welsh side.

Peterson should now be gain confidence from his accomplished display in a lacklustre Swansea side, and he will be hoping to be given the chance to build on this with a second consecutive start in the South Wales Derby on Sunday.

This match would give Peterson another prime opportunity to make his breakthrough impact for the side, which could lead to him endearing himself to the Swansea faithful and featuring more regularly in Cooper's side.

It has taken him a while to find his feet at the club, but he has now forged a route towards establishing himself in South Wales.
