Brentford had a late flurry of good results, which rocketed them up the table, resulting in them finishing 10th, but still some distance off the Play-Offs.

Dean Smith's good work at Griffin Park has gone somewhat under the radar, with the former Walsall manager implementing an attractive, attacking style of play of play onto the Bees, and they now seem to be bearing the fruits of his hard work.

In the second half of the season, Brentford excelled, but their poor first half hindered any chances they had of forcing their way into the top six.

The return of wing wizard, Jota, was a timely boost for the Bees, and when the Spaniard returned he had an instant impact on the side, but with this, came speculation of his future over the summer, with Burnley believed to be interested in the playmaker.

The lure of Premier League football could be too much for Jota to turn down, leaving Brentford searching for a replacement.

Swansea's Mo Barrow would be the perfect replacement.

Barrow spent the second half of the season on loan at Leeds, but he struggled to make inroads on the first team, and spent most of his time on the bench.

That said, with more first team football under his belt, Barrow could be an influential player for the Bees next season.

With the red-hot Lasse Vibe in and around the box, Brentford need players out wide who will create chances, and Barrow certainly will.

The Gambian is lightning quick and can beat players with ease, which makes him the perfect winger for a Dean Smith side.

He can play from the left or right, like Jota, and with a regular run of games, he would certainly improve.

The Brentford boss has shown a willingness to utilise younger players and most importantly, improve them, with Ryan Woods, John Egan and Rico Henry, all featuring under Smith.
