The Sunderland XI that Ross needs to play v Accrington tomorrow

Sunderland will continue to put the pressure on League One table-toppers Portsmouth this weekend, with a tough trip to Accrington Stanley on the cards.

Fresh off their comfortable 2-0 Checkatrade Trophy victory against Notts County in midweek, Jack Ross’ men will go into the fixture full of confidence having gone unbeaten in their last eleven league games.

It may look like a guaranteed three points for the Black Cats when you take a look at Stanley’s form – John Coleman’s men are without a win in six games and have lost their last three, but will also be desperate to get back to winning ways this weekend. The Lancashire club thrive on being underdogs, and it could be a potential banana skin for Ross’ men.

Of course, Sunderland should have this game in the bag – they have arguably the best squad in the league on paper and go into the fixture on the back of such an impressive run of form.

Here, we take a look at the Sunderland XI that Jack Ross needs to play against Accrington on Saturday afternoon…
