It has been another season of disappointment for supporters of Leeds United and boss Paul Heckingbottom has a massive task on his hands to revive the club’s flailing fortunes.

His charges were beaten 2-0 by promotion chasing Fulham on Tuesday to pretty much end any faint hopes the West Yorkshire-based club had of reaching the end of season play-offs.

The former Barnsley boss has a massive summer ahead of him as he looks to rebuild a squad that seems uncapable of challenging in the higher echelons of the Championship anytime during the foreseeable future.

Some members of the Leeds squad look out of sorts, whilst others are simply not good enough to be part of the setup at Elland Road.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Football League World writer Lee Clarke looks at two players who the Whites should look to move on as part of a big summer clear-out…

The former Bournemouth man has been remarkably poor during the current campaign and he has come in for a lot of criticism from certain sections of the Elland Road faithful.

The 27-year-old could find himself down the pecking order next season if Heckingbottom can get some new recruits in, with the summer representing the perfect time for O’Kane to revive his form elsewhere.

Leeds desperately need a goalkeeper in the summer and Lonergan could be one of the current crop of stoppers that makes way for a new recruit.

The 34-year-old has made just seven appearances for the first-team this season and his time at Elland Road looks almost nailed on to end at the end of the campaign.

Leeds United fans, would you welcome the departure of these two players during the summer? Let us know in the comments below!!!
