Blackburn Rovers are on track to secure an instant return to the Championship following last season's relegation, with the Lancashire-based club currently top of the pile in League One.

Boss Tony Mowbray has done well to ensure focus has been maintained and he deserves immense credit for reviving the club's fortunes after a miserable campaign last time around.

The challenge next season, provided promotion is ensured in the coming weeks, will be to make Rovers a competitive Championship club once again and that might mean a rebuilding process in terms of playing persona for Mowbray.

The club will hope to finish the promotion mission in the coming weeks and then look towards the summer where new recruits will naturally arrive at the club. Football League World writer Lee Clarke looks at two players who could be offloaded in the summer to make way for any potential new recruits...

The ex-Queens Park Rangers man has not featured in a single squad since October and he appears to be way down the Blackburn Rovers pecking order at the moment.

Gladwin is 25-years-old and after some impressive form at Swindon Town a couple of years ago, he really needs to leave Ewood Park in order to begin fulfilling his potential once more.

The target man has netted just five goals in League One this season and if Blackburn have ambitions of being competitive in the Championship then they may look towards a striker who is a bit more prolific.

Samuel only signed for Rovers in the summer but given that he has never really scored Championship goals during his career, it seems unlikely that the club will stick with him for next season.

Blackburn fans, do you agree that these players will leave in the summer? Let us know in the comments below!!!
