Leeds United's forward line is perhaps one quality addition away from being a real force in the Championship for the coming season.

Whites fans will be excited to see their club is linked with Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez.

The Uruguayan has been linked with Leeds, after his contract at Hull City has expired.

Abel Hernandez ruptured his achilles tendon against Wolverhampton Wanderers last season, which led to him being sidelined for the majority of Hull's Championship campaign.

His return of eight goals in the ten matches he did play, shows what an asset to Leeds United's forward line the 6ft 1 striker would be.

In the 2015/16 season, Hernandez netted 20 Championship goals, this goal scoring prowess would be vital for Leeds United.

A signing such as Abel Hernandez would also help Kemar Roofe, who scored ten Championship goals for the Elland Road outfit last season.

A true target man who can bring the ball down, shown by the fact he wins 1.2 aerial duels per game.

He also has a solid pass success rate and is comfortable on the ball - Hernandez and Roofe could form the perfect partnership together as a front pairing for the Whites.

Kemar Roofe is a skillful and exciting talent, but whether he could get twenty or more Championship goals in a system remains a question mark over the former Oxford United man.

Abel Hernandez is proven at Championship level, and, providing he is over the worst of his injury troubles, would provide Leeds an almost guaranteed 15 or more Championship goals.

Leeds would be doing a shrewd piece of transfer business with Hernandez, as they wouldn't have to muster up a transfer fee.

Leeds United fans will no doubt be urging on the club and Marcelo Bielsa to get the deal done.

Bielsa's attacking style of play will likely benefit Hernandez, so this may well prove to be a perfect move for both club and player.
