The Championship resumes this weekend after a two-week stoppage to accommodate the international schedule for the UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Having had the league paused for the past fortnight, teams up and down the competition have been able to reassess their squad and evaluate their performances and results from the first quarter of the season.

Matchday 13 will be in full flow this weekend as all other 23 second-tier sides resume action looking to improve on their current records.

Stoke City will be no different to their rivals when they host Birmingham City at the Bet365 Stadium this weekend.

The two sides are separated by three places and one point.

Gary Rowett will have been mulling over his potential team selection since their win over Norwich City two weeks ago.

There will be issues that will be playing on his mind ahead of the away fixture having had the international break to formulate a plan for the match.

With that said, here are the Stoke dilemmas that'll be bugging Rowett ahead of Birmingham.

Thought the season Gary Rowett has experimented with at least three different systems.

Stoke have played in a 4-3-3 system, as well as a 4-4-1-1.

But the Potters have settled more on a 4-1-4-1 system.

Having had two weeks off with his squad, Rowett might have worked harder on the other formations and could look to deploy one of the systems above this weekend against Birmingham.

Gary Rowett has options in attack and depending on the system used, the choice to lead the line will be an issue the manager needs to run the rule over.

Will Saido Berahino start, or will Benik Afobe continue in the attack?

Bojan could also be implemented up top, or Peter Crouch could be recalled to the starting XI?

Having had two weeks off the forwards who have failed to start in recent weeks will be pushing Afobe to the limit to stake a claim to start on the weekend.

Having struggled at the start of the season, Peter Etebo has slowly started to acclimatise to the Championship.

But Gary Rowett will have to consider, being at home, if he alters formation, does the Nigeria International drop out in favour of a Joe Allen and Ryan Woods midfield double act?

He will be scratching his head as to why Etebo has had a slow start to the new campaign.

And Saturday will be the proving ground as to if his inclusion, or lack of, is the right decision or not.
