Stoke City made a somewhat sluggish start to the season under Gary Rowett but they are slowly putting together a good run of form, which will be pleasing to see for Potters supporters.

Rowett's side are unbeaten in their last six league matches and are finally picking up some momentum at the right time ahead of the festive fixtures.

They face Reading at the Madejski Stadium this weekend in what could be a potentially tricky fixture against Paul Clement's side, who have struggled this season.

Rowett will also be without Peter Etebo for the clash against the Royals after he was dismissed for an appalling challenge in last night's win over Derby County.

Stoke went on to win a fiercely contested game despite their disadvantage - a result which saw the Potters move up to 12th in the Championship table.

So, how can we expect Stoke's midfield to line up against Reading with Etebo unavailable?

Find out here....

Since his move to the Potters from Brentford, Woods has been crucial to their midfield trio this season.

Gary Rowett has handed Woods 13 starts in total and his energy in the midfield could pose a serious threat to a Reading side who are currently short on confidence after a disappointing start to the season.

He is sure to be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Fletcher has been limited to just four starts for Rowett's side this season.

His experience and calmness in the midfield will be a real benefit to Stoke this weekend against a relatively young midfield that Reading have.

He will be keen to stake a strong case to remain in the side in place of Etebo.

Providing Allen isn't suspended for his part in the Bradley Johnson biting fiasco, he should be starting against the Royals this weekend.

His creativity in the midfield makes him one of the Championship's best and he will be keen to make his mark against Reading.

Allen will need to be at his best if Stoke are to mount any sort of challenge for an immediate return to the Premier League.
