It is rare that a player can slide under the radar in the Championship, with the highest rated players in the division often exposed to continuous media coverage and attention via social media channels.

What is even rarer, is that a player who has just qualified for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia with his international side remains underrated and without plaudits.

Despite scoring the opening goal in Poland’s 6-1 demolition of Armenia in Yerevan this week, winger Kamil Grosicki is rarely thought of as one of the best players in the second tier of English football.

Yet Hull City’s January signing from French side Rennes is consistent, explosive, and ticks all the boxes to be considered one of the best in the trade at this level.

With 53 international caps to his name already, and set to start for the Poles at the tournament next summer, Grosicki is a seasoned star.

The 29-year-old has begun life in the Championship with the Tigers in impressive fashion, scoring three goals and laying on a further four assists in only nine starts, and is on course for a remarkable campaign.

He has appeared in eight of Poland’s nine World Cup Qualifiers, and at Euro 2016, registered three assists during his time at the tournament.

Why clubs in the Premier League aren’t looking at this player is a mystery, but Hull manager Leonid Slutsky truly has a star on his hands in the experienced Pole.

The Tigers have struggled since their demotion last year, but a 6-1 demolition of Birmingham City before the international break has put the Humberside club back in a great position.

If Grosicki continues his form, he will certainly be on the plane to Russia, and Hull could acquire a ticket of their own to the promise land of the Premier League.
