Even though he will still be celebrating the remarkable achievement of leading Sheffield United to promotion, the focus for Chris Wilder will quickly switch to how his side can cope in the top-flight.

The Blades have a clear style of play that has served them well in the Championship but slight tweaks may be needed to ensure they cope in the top-flight - and Wolves can be their inspiration.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side won the title last season and have adapted to life in the league above with ease. They're guaranteed a top-half finish and could potentially be playing in Europe next season.

Whilst they undoubtedly have more resources and connections than the Yorkshire side, that often overshadows the fine work that Santo has done.

He too had a clear approach in the Championship, with a 3-4-3 formation getting the best out of the Wanderers squad last season.

Yet, a run of five defeats and a draw from mid-October to December suggested that the opposition knew how to deal with that approach from Wolves.

So, Santo decided to change to a more solid 3-5-2, with Leander Dendoncker coming into the team to add power and strength to the midfield and a classic front two has been a revelation.

And, that's something that Wilder should be thinking about already.

He often plays with a 3-4-1-2 but having an attacking midfielder can be a bit of a luxury at times in the Premier League.

We're not suggesting that Mark Duffy, who often plays in that role, doesn't do a lot for the team but in the top-flight the Blades won't be having as much of the ball and it means whoever is in that position can be frustrated and not really involved in games.

The lack of possession is an important issue for newly-promoted teams and Wolves have been more effective when they haven't had the ball this season, boasting a strong defensive structure and countering at pace - with the back three and tireless wing-backs key to that.

Wilder will recognise the need for Sheffield United to cope without the ball because the standard of opponents mean they can't dominate like they have done.

It's going to be a tough season for the Blades but they can take encouragement from how Wolves have done and even if they don't have the same calibre of players as those at Molineux, they have shown a way of being successful in the Premier League that Wilder could follow.
