Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish will turn down any offers from Tottenham Hotspur this summer and stay at Villa Park, according to Sky Sports' transfer centre (May 30, 12:29).

Grealish was one of the standout players for Villa in the Championship last season and played a vital role as Dean Smith's side won promotion to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old scored six goals and provided six assists for his teammates in 31 Championship appearances for Villa last season and was instrumental in the club-record ten-match winning run that saw them reach the play-offs.

Sky Sports' transfer centre (May 30, 12:29) states that Tottenham made as many as three bids of up to £25million to sign the midfielder last summer and were expected to try to sign him again if Villa missed out on promotion.

Grealish himself admitted after the win over Derby County in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Monday that he expected to leave the club last summer, but he signed a new five-year contract at Villa Park in September.

The Verdict:

This is fantastic news for Aston Villa.

Grealish was exceptional for Villa in the Championship last season.

He's a quality player and there's no doubt that he has the ability to make an impact in the Premier League.

The midfielder is fan favourite at Villa Park and I'm sure fans will be delighted with this news.
