Barnsley last night declared their support for the Welsh national team on Twitter, with players Tom Bradshaw and Ryan Hedges both in the squad to face Panama.

The duo earned call-ups following a solid run of form for the Tykes, and both saw the field after coming on in the second half of the 1-1 draw in Cardiff.

The result will come as a disappointment to manager Chris Coleman and his men after Panama’s injury time equaliser salvaged a draw, adding further despair to the national side following their failure to qualify for next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The Tykes have shown signs of good form in the league this season, and Paul Heckingbottom’s men lie in sixteenth place following the opening sixteen rounds of league fixtures.

The club are in the midst of a mini-crisis at the moment, with boss Heckingbottom strongly linked with a move to bottom side Sunderland, and fans took to Twitter to respond to the club’s Welsh Tweet, pleading for information on their beloved boss’ future…
