Paul Heckingbottom’s role as Leeds United’s head-coach remains in doubt, with no guarantees that the 40-year-old will still be in charge at Elland Road at the start of next season.

Nothing has been confirmed by the club or Heckingbottom, but various reports early this week were confirming that his place at Elland Road was far from secure.

Reports in the Daily Star casting doubt over Heckingbottom’s role, also suggested that Leeds were considering a move for Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri is out of work, with his last job in English football coming at Leicester City, were he sensationally led to Foxes to the Premier League title.

The Italian has a magnificent reputation, and should he arrive at Elland Road he would give Leeds a huge lift ahead of the new season.

Of course, like all managers, Ranieri would want to put his own twist on things at Elland Road.

With that in mind, here is a look at THREE players he could look to sign…

Huth was key to Leicester’s title success under Ranieri and is available on a free this summer.

The 33-year-old has struggled with injuries over the last year, but his experience would be welcome at Elland Road.

King was another part of Ranieri’s title winning squad at Leicester.

The midfielder left Leicester on-loan in January, with his opportunities at the King Power looking limited.

Should Ranieri take over at Leeds, he could look to reunite with the midfielder.

Jakupovic never featured under Ranieri at Leicester, but is currently on their books.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper has endured a frustrating year and could be open to a move this summer.

Leeds need a goalkeeper and Ranieri could use his contacts at Leicester to swing a deal.
