Charlton Athletic owner Thomas Sandgaard has sent a message of reassurance to fans after last night's 4-2 defeat to Burton Albion, which has drawn a positive response from many supporters of the club.

The Addicks saw their run of six league wins on the bounce ended by Gillingham on the weekend and were shocked by relegation battling Burton last night.

Charlton struggled to get past early defensive errors and allowed the Millers to claim what is just their second League One win of the 2020/21 campaign.

Following the disappointing performance and result, Sandgaard took to Twitter last night in an attempt to reassure the Valley faithful.

The Danish businessman became the south London club's owner in the summer and on the back of a spending spree late in the transfer window, the Addicks' form has been much improved since.

Question marks remain over his ownership of the club following legal challenges from Paul Elliott but it seems Sandgaard is keen to continue the vocal social media presence he has had since he first revealed his interest earlier this summer.
