Sheffield United need to maintain the pressure on the teams above them with a victory against the Blues.

The Blades are only three points outside the play-offs with three games remaining.

On paper, this is the easiest game remaining because they have Preston and Bristol City left to play as well.

However, Birmingham need a result to ensure Barnsley don't catch them up and drag them down into the relegation spots.

Wilder has taken a defensive approach in recent games with a 3-5-1-1 formation against Millwall which ensured they controlled the midfield. He needs to shift back to 3-4-1-2 shape which worked well at the beginning of the season due to the added attacking player which didn't come at the expense of their defensive structure.

Here is the starting XI that Wilder should choose on Saturday...

Blackman keeps his place in the team after serving a three-game suspension prior to the Millwall game which gave Simon Moore a chance to stake a claim in the starting XI.

Baldock provides the width on the right as well as dealing with the left-winger.

Basham starts as the right centre-back and is important in ensuring that the opposition can't exploit the space behind Baldock.

Stearman is tasked with limiting the effectiveness of Che Adams, although Garry Monk may decide to use two strikers.

O'Connell carries on his record of not missing any game this season and balances between dealing with the opposition strikers and ensuring there isn't space down the left flanks for Birmingham to exploit.

Stevens is similar to Baldock in that he is tasked with providing width to spread the opposition horizontally while also making sure he gets the balance of his responsibilities correct.

Evans was the hero against Middlesbrough a couple of games ago because he scored both goals in a 2-1 victory. However, his main job is being part of a compact shape defensively while also supporting attacks as a threat from the edge of the box for cutbacks from the byline.

Fleck is the more defensive-minded of the two central midfielders and has to ensure that opposition play is channelled to the wings through his ball-winning ability.

Duffy is key because of his creative threat, but also ensures that the Blades control the midfield so they can effectively build-up and cut off passing lanes when the opposition has possession.

Clarke is the main attacking threat and he will be aiming to carry on scoring after his goal against Millwall.

Sharp is another threat in the box for United when they overload down the wings. With two strikers, the Blades can stretch the defence with their movement and provide a threat at the front and back post while the midfielders provide an option at the edge of the box.
