Sheffield Wednesday are now in the play-offs after a comfortable win over Bristol City last time out.

A quick fire double from Portuguese star Lucas Joao ensured Jos Luhukay’s men travelled home with all three points in the bag.

With 5 wins in the opening twelve to their name, the Owls are just in the play-offs, ahead of Brentford, Derby, Norwich and Blackburn who are all one point lesser off, on 18 points.

It by no means ensures that Luhukay’s men are real promotion shoe-ins, but to be in this position at this stage is excellent for Wednesday.

After a poor season last year, Owls supporters will be hoping their team can return to the play-offs this season, with their fierce rivals Sheffield United leading the way going into the weekend, with the Steel City derby just weeks away.

Next up for Jos Luhukay’s side is a home fixture against high flyers Middlesbrough, in what promises to be an exciting fixture under the lights at Hillsborough on Friday evening.

Here, we look at THREE XI dilemmas that Jos Luhukay will be mulling over ahead of the exciting clash…

It has been a year to forget for Sam Winnall. The energetic star has spent the last eight months on the sidelines after suffering a ligament injury while on loan at Derby County. Despite this, he is back to fitness now and completed a game for the under 23’s against Crewe Alexandra recently, in which he scored.

Luhukay will have the dilemma of how to get Winnall back into the team, whether he eases him in slowly or throws in him at the proverbial deep end.

Lucas Joao scored a double in Wednesday’s impressive win in Bristol last time out, but still is seen as a ‘super-sub’, despite being Wednesday’s top scorer.

Luhukay may be tempted to give the Portuguese attacker a deserved start, but the dilemma lies in who to drop.
