Birmingham City's turnaround this season under manager Garry Monk continued at the weekend when a fourth successive win took them up to ninth in the Championship and extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches.

The 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday took Monk's side to within two points of the play-off places and caps a remarkable change of fortune having only taken six points from a possible 24 at the start of the season.

So what has been the secret of Birmingham's success in recent weeks?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

Their strikers' excellent form.

Lucas Jutkiewicz and Che Adams have both been in excellent form this season and the pair will be confident of building on that good run of form in their next game.

The duo already have 13 goals to their name this season and they will be hoping to fire their side up the table, like they have already shown they can do.

Gary Hutchinson

Hard work, organisation and determination.

They’ve looked organised since the start of the season.

What they didn’t have was a goal threat, but that’s changed recently.

Jutkiewicz has surprised me, he’s been on fire.

Jay Taylor

Organisation and perseverance, I feel.

Garry Monk’s teams always have to be beat and never run ragged, and if they are it is once in a blue moon.

They had an issue turning draws into wins but it seems that are doing so now and small tweaks in tactics and personnel have sent the Blues on their way.

Continuity, too, helps breed success and Monk has found a formula and is sticking to it.

His players know what they are doing and they are doing it well.

George Harbey

I don't think there's too much of a secret to be honest, I think it's simply just hard work and sticking together.

After going winless in their first eight league games many clubs would have parted company with their manager, but Blues didn't lose faith and kept believing in Monk, and they are now reaping the rewards.

Monk's men look on fire, and could be a shout for promotion if things stay like this...
