Despite defeat in the Second City derby at the weekend, Birmingham City have been on an upward trajectory under manager Garry Monk that sees the Blues sitting in 12th spot, with over a third of the Championship season gone.

One important factor for Monk's side has been the form of striker Lukas Jutkiewicz who has scored 10 times in 18 appearances for City so far this season.

With this superb form, he may be getting some admiring glances from the top-flight.

But is Lukas Jutkiewicz good enough for the Premier League?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

I think he has had his time and he is solid Championship quality, but nothing more.

If he was Premier League quality, he would be there playing now and not in the middle of the Championship.

I think playing with Che Adams is bringing out the best in him at present, but I am not too sure he would cut it in the top flight when you look at how far the game has come, even over the last couple of years.

The second tier is his level, that is where he has been first-rate for the majority of his career.

Gary Hutchinson

Absolutely not.

He’s a decent Championship player thriving in a style that suits, but he’s not top flight quality.

He’s a bit like Leon Clarke last year, a surprise package who has succeeded as a victim of circumstance.

Would he even have played if the Blues had a summer of proper recruitment?

George Harbey

I’m afraid to say it but he just isn’t.

His goalscoring record before this season was dire, and I just don’t think he’d cut it.

Perhaps the only club he’d cut it at is a Cardiff or Burnley side.
