These are changing times for Hull City down at the KCOM stadium and the Tigers are now prepping themselves for a tough season ahead in the Championship.

Leonid Slutsky is the man that has been given the reigns for the upcoming campaign and he’s got a big job on his shoulders- trying to guide his new side back to the top-tier at the first attempt.

It’s no easy ask in what looks set to be one of the toughest Championship campaigns we’ve seen in years.

He needs to start making some summer signings and there’s one man in particular we’d love to see him target over the coming weeks or months.

The person in question? Blackburn Rovers defender Charlie Mulgrew, who is expected to leave Blackburn Rovers following their relegation from the Championship at the end of last season.

The former Celtic star, renowned for his ability from set-pieces, is widely expected to leave Rovers because of wage demands and we think he’d be a cracking addition to Slutsky’s side, especially after the departure of Curtis Davies to Derby County.

Not only does Mulgrew have that set-piece ability in his locker, he’s also a seriously competent defender with plenty of experience under his belt.

He’s played as high as the Champions League and despite Blackburn’s struggles for much of the campaign last time out, he’s a player that is still more than good enough to compete at this level.

Hull really need to make a push of it early-doors next season or they could risk facing the same fate as the likes of Aston Villa next season.
