Nottingham Forest boosted their survival hopes with three points over Aston Villa in a thrilling ending to the match on Saturday.

Only one of Forest's four deadline day signings featured as midfielder Zach Clough started, with Ross McCormack and Aaron Tshibola unable to play against their parent club. Meanwhile Joao Teixeira and Gboly Ariyibi were unable to make the final cut.

The home side got off to a less than ideal start when Jonathan Kodjia coolly put the ball in the net to give the visitors a lead.

Although Gary Brazil's team ended the first-half in good spirits when Britt Assombalonga got on the end of a Sam Johnstone spill to gain an equaliser in the 42nd minute.

With Nottingham Forest on top, they dominated after the interval and finally got their second goal when 17 year-old forward Ben Brereton bagged the winner during added time against 10-man Aston Villa, who had Jack Grealish sent off 12 minutes from time.

Fans have been left buzzing as their club now sit eight points above the drop on 36 points and equal to Saturday's opposition.

Here's how they reacted on Twitter......

Forest supporters, what did you think of that terrific performance? Is there a bright future for Brereton? Should Gary Brazil get the manager's job on a full-time basis?
