Rotherham United continued to climb up the table and picked up their third consecutive League One win by grabbing a dramatic 3-2 win against MK Dons on Saturday.

Having been relegated from the Championship last season, the Millers will undoubtedly be looking to do everything they can to ensure that they can restrict their stay in the third tier of English football to just 46 games.

After a slightly shaky start to the campaign, Paul Warne's side appear to be finding their feet in League One and now sit fourth–just two points outside the automatic promotion places.

At Stadium MK on Saturday they showed the sort of fight and resilience you need to seal promotion in what is set to be a long, hard season.

They made the worst possible start, conceding twice within the first 13 minutes but fought back to claim all three points with a fantastic second-half performance.

No one was more symptomatic of Rotherham's impressive second period than striker Freddie Ladapo, who was thrown on at the half by Warne–and to great effect.

The Nigerian striker has been a bit-part player for the Millers in recent weeks, starting only twice since September and not finding the net once in League One across that period.

Ladapo joined from Plymouth Argyle in the summer and after scoring four times in his first six league games seemed to lose his mojo somewhat.

The 26-year-old appeared to rediscover it on Saturday and will now be hoping to use that to kick-start his season and spearhead Rotherham's promotion campaign.

Ladapo was brought on to replace Michael Smith at half time against MK Dons and played for 52 minutes in total.

He showed just how prolific he can be in that time–scoring twice and hitting the target three times with his four shots, according to Wyscout.

The 26-year-old looked dangerous every time he had the ball in the box–with his four touches in the penalty area leading to two goals and forcing two saves from Lee Nicholls, one from his strike and one from a teammate's (Wyscout).

He was an asset for Warne's side outside the box as well and the ferocity with which he chased down balls forward and the strength he showed against the opposition defenders was particularly admirable.

Ladapo had seen his season stutter with Rotherham prior to the game but you feel he will likely have newfound confidence after producing a match-winning performance on Saturday.

The 26-year-old will feel he has earned the right for another chance in the starting XI and that he can rediscover the form that saw him score 18 times in League One for Plymouth last season to spearhead the Millers promotion push.
