Leeds United are expected to listen to offers for defender Lewie Coyle when the transfer window in the summer, after it was reportedly decided that the 23-year-old does not have a first team future at Elland Road.

Coyle has spent the last two seasons on loan with Fleetwood Town in League One, where has made a total of 90 appearances in all competitions for the Cod Army, with current Fleetwood boss Joey Barton previously admitting that he would 'love' to keep the 23-year-old at Highbury beyond the end of his current loan.

Despite impressing throughout the course of his time in the third tier, Football Insider claim that Leeds have decided to listen to offers for the right back, with his contract at Elland Road set to expire at the end of next season.

So what do Football League World writers make of the latest update on Coyle's future?

We asked some of them for their thoughts...

Ben Lang

"I can't see Coyle breaking into the Leeds line-up ahead of Luke Ayling next season, but I think he still has a role to play at Elland Road.
"He's been excellent during his time at Fleetwood, while he also has an attacking element to his game.
"This is something Bielsa will look for in a player if he is still at Leeds next season, therefore Coyle could be a useful squad member."
Toby Wilding
"This is probably the right move for Leeds.
"Even if they fail to reach the Premier League this season, they are still a club with top flight aspirations, and performances in League One will not be enough to convince anyone that Coyle is ready for that. "That being said, Leeds shouldn't expect to be short of offers from clubs elsewhere in the Football League." Chris Gallagher
"It's the right decision unfortunately for the player.
"Coyle has proven himself to be a good player in League One over the past few years and I think he could go on to do well in the Championship if given a chance.
"However, Leeds have plenty of options in that position and they are right to move him on, it benefits both the club and the player."
