It's been a tough season for Wolves down in the Championship and manager Paul Lambert has a lot of work to do if he's to transform his team into play-off chasers.

Despite putting together a seriously good run of form towards the end of the season, which saw a toppling win against play-off chasing Leeds United, Wolves' form earlier on this campaign simply wasn't good enough, especially in-front of their home fans.

The 2-1 home defeat to hapless Birmingham was probably as bad as it got for Lambert at the time and it all points to a real need to invest in the squad heavily over the summer months.

And there's one man we think would make a seriously good addition to the squad and that's Norwich City full-back Steven Whittaker, who has been released by the club after a good few years at Carrow Road.

He was one of the more surprising names to have faced the chop from the Canaries squad but with him now being a free agent, there will no doubt be clubs at this level be sizing him up for a free transfer.

And he's the sort of player we think would bring seriously good depth to the squad and a vital bit of experience too.

He's done the whole Championship play-off race before and he's a name that would fit into the Wolves squad with genuine ease.

He's a pacy, attacking-minded option who has a good calibre at both international and club level.

Certainly one to think about for Lambert going forward.

Wolves fans- do you think Whittaker would be a decent addition to the squad going forward? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
