Leeds United are said to be stalling on offering bright prospect Jack Clarke a new deal, which has alerted several Premier League sides.

The 18-year-old has impressed Marcelo Bielsa since the Argentinian took over at Elland Road, with Clarke making five league appearances already this season.

And, that has not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with reports suggesting that Manchester City are keen on the teenager.

However, Football Insider claim that clubs are encouraged by the fact that Leeds are not putting a new deal on the table for Clarke despite his involvement this season.

They also add that the player's representatives want to open talks regarding a contract as a reward for the form he has shown.

Yet, Leeds appear to be in no rush to sort something out, with Clarke's current deal running until 2021.

However, that is a very risky move from the Yorkshire club and here we look at TWO reasons why they should be trying to sort a new deal immediately...

Firstly, you have to say that Clarke deserves a new deal having broke into the squad under Bielsa.

He previously signed on his 17th birthday, his first professional deal, but players should be rewarded if they progress.

Leeds have a great academy but they need to show that talent will be rewarded and in Clarke's case a deal is fully merited to reflect his new status at the club.

As well as that, the longer this goes on there is a possibility that Clarke will have his head turned.

He could feel unappreciated at Elland Road and we've already seen that some big clubs are interested in the player and they could take advantage of this situation, which could leave Leeds in an awkward position.
