‘The real deal’, ‘Superb’ – Many QPR fans rave about one man after Bournemouth draw

QPR kept their second clean sheet of the season in a goalless draw against Bournemouth yesterday and many fans have been raving about the performance of Rob Dickie.

The central defender joined from Oxford United in the summer but has not had the easiest of starts to the season with the 3-2 defeat at the hands of Coventry City a particularly difficult game for him.

The 24-year-old produced a composed display at the Vitality Stadium yesterday, helping Mark Warburton’s side against high-flying Bournemouth.

Dickie won 13 of his 16 defensive duels, made four clearances and four tackles, as well as making one interception and blocking a shot (Sofascore) on an afternoon when Cherries striker Dominic Solanke was kept very quiet.

The R’s have been known for their free-scoring and open style of play since Warburton took charge but were poor defensively last term, with only two sides conceding more than them in the Championship.

Dickie was brought with the hope of solving that problem and he did just that against the Cherries to help his side claim a point.

Do QPR and Brentford have these 10 things in common?

The defender’s performance certainly caught the attention of fans of the west London club, with many taking to Twitter to heap praise on him.
