It's been a tough season for Leeds United fans in the Championship who saw their team fall away from the play-off places in the final days of the campaign.

Whites fans watched on in horror as their team struggled to maintain their strong early-season form until the end of the campaign, meaning Fulham slipped ahead of them in the race for the play-offs.

It had been a solid campaign for Garry Monk until April but he watched his side fall apart just as they needed to pick up wins like the other sides around them.

And it's clear that over the summer months, Monk needs to add striking firepower to his team's ranks if they're to have any chance of challenging at the top of the table next time out.

One man they should certainly be keeping an eye on moving forward is £425,000-rated Reading striker Yann Kermorgant, who has been in superb form for the Royals all-season long.

He finished sixth in the Championship top goalscorers chart this campaign, bagging an impressive 18 goals, creating three assists too.

Of course, we know the over-reliance the Whites have had on Chris Wood this season and bringing in another forward to take that goalscoring burden off his shoulders is arguably their biggest summer task.

Kermorgant might not be everyone's cup of tea but he's a burly forward who knows this level extremely well after spells with Leicester, Charlton and now the Royals.

Leeds normally play one striker upfront with two wingers either side so if they do make a move for the Frenchman, it's likely he'd be directly competing with Wood for a striking role in the starting XI.

Kermorgant is a strong forward who doesn't offer bags of pace but does know how to bring his teammates into the game, especially when the going gets tough.

It's a move that would seriously work out for the Whites, especially if the Royals get promoted to the Premier League, as his chance of game-time in the top-flight are likely to be limited.
