It's set to be an exciting Championship campaign and for Ian Holloway's QPR, an opening day win over promotion hopefuls Reading was a seriously good start to proceedings.

Poor and expensive signings over the past few years continue to blight QPR's progress at this level and with little money in the transfer kitty, many ruled out the Hoops from the start.

But a convincing 2-0 win over a Reading side that raced to the play-offs last season was a much-welcomed boost for supporters who might've feared the worst before the campaign got underway.

On a budget, Championship veteran Ian Holloway has already made some good signings both this summer and in the January window, with players like Luke Freeman already showing their worth in this starting XI.

But there's one player in this QPR team that we're tipping to have a seriously good campaign and turn in some performances that could be the difference between a push for promotion or a scrap at the bottom of the table.

The man in question? Australian international Massimo Luongo, who last season showed some real quality in the middle-of-the-park. He left Spurs in 2013 in pursuit of first-team football and it's safe to say he probably made the right decision.

Having played at Swindon Town for two years, he's now comfortably being selected in the QPR midfield week-after-week and showing some real class.

He's not everyone's cup of tea and if your after a player bless with technical and ability then Luongo isn't going to be your man. But what he does bring is grit, determination and real power to QPR's team.

With some decent players around him, then QPR do have every chance of making an unexpected push for promotion. But Luongo will be at the heart of that and expect him to shine as the season progresses.
