Queens Park Rangers’ goalkeeper Joe Lumley has watched the last two games from the sidelines, as manager Mark Warburton still searches for his number one at Loftus Road.

QPR and Luton Town are the only two teams in the Championship yet to keep a clean sheet. That however, won't outshine the good start to life in West London Warburton has had.

The former Brentford and Nottingham Forest manager arrived in the summer and has since revitalised the club, who find themselves just a point outside the play-offs in the international break.

Over the next two weeks, Warburton’s mind will be on his defenders, and how he can get them to show more organisation on the pitch.

In their last two games they’ve conceded five - In a 3-0 loss at Cardiff City and a 4-2 win over Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.

It’ll be a huge area of concern for the club. Warburton has constantly changed between a back-four and five and has recently chosen to switch it up between the sticks.

Lumley was the number one going into the season, but after so long without a clean sheet he was dropped for summer signing Liam Kelly.

Kelly hasn't looked all that certain in the two Championship games he's played. The Scot's looked nervy at times and it gives Warburton plenty to ponder before they travel Hull in two weeks' time.

Lumley, 24, is in his third season at Loftus Road. He made his breakthrough last season when replacing Alex Smithies who departed for Cardiff, and was the number one choice going into the Warburton era. It gives both Lumley and Kelly the chance to prove their worth against each other in training, and hope to reclaim/keep their number one spot for the next outing.

Though at times Lumley has looked weak as well. He’s definitely a keeper with ability and at 24-years-old he may still have plenty of potential.

Out of the first-team though, Lumley needs to dig his feet in to get back in the QPR first-team, and state his authority in West London.
