Leeds United’s playing squad has been under the microscope for a number of weeks now, with their 2017/18 campaign drifting towards a mid-table finish in the Sky Bet Championship.

It looks like Leeds will be finishing in a position they have become familiar with over recent times, with mediocrity something that supporters have become accustomed to at Elland Road.

Paul Heckingbottom’s squad needs a reshape, with some Championship experience needed, along with a huge exodus of fringe players.

One area that Leeds have particularly struggled this season has been in attack, where they have failed to fill the void left by Chris Wood, last season’s 30-goal striker.

Here at FLW, one person we believe could be a good fit is Sam Baldock, who is the latest feature of our spotlight:

We’ve taken a look at Baldock’s stats from the 2016/17 campaign, when he helped to fire Brighton and Hove Albion to automatic promotion in the Championship.

The 29-year-old striker bagged 11 goals in the Championship, adding a further five assists for the Seagulls in his 31 appearances.

Baldock’s shooting accuracy was at 55% at the end of the year, whilst the striker also created 25 chances.

In addition to that, Baldock completed 70% of his passes for Chris Hughton’s side.

Since Brighton’s promotion to the Premier League, Baldock has struggled for opportunities, with injuries hindering him and others firmly ahead of him in the pecking order.

Leeds fans… Do you think Baldock could be a good summer addition at Elland Road? Let us know your thoughts!
