Aston Villa have got another season of Championship football to contend with on the horizon, and the pressure is on Steve Bruce to secure a return to the Premier League as soon as possible.

Villa have invested heavily in their squad over the past season alone and one man we're yet to see a massive amount from is former Barnsley man James Bree.

The 19-year-old made the transfer to Villa Park last January and as expected, he's been used sparingly as Villa tried to bounce straight back into the first-tier.

But moving forward, the Wakefield-born youngster needs to be playing first-team football at a good level and here at the FLW, we think a move to Birmingham City would be an excellent transfer for the youngster.

Of course, he's now living in Birmingham and moving across the City would give him the chance to work with one of the most experienced managers around in Harry Redknapp.

Emiliano Nsue is yet to convince the whole of the Blues faithful and having another strong option in that department would be cracking for Redknapp, as he aims to guide his team up the table next season.

Bree showed some superb signs of form during his time at Oakwell before he made the switch to Villa Park and he needs to be building on what he's already learnt, rather than dropping out of Championship and into Villa's reserve squads.

Of course, it's a move that might not go down too well with both sets of supporters across the city but a move would be superb for both parties in terms of Villa getting Bree some experience and Blues receiving one of the most promising young players in the game.
