Struggling for game time at AFC Bournemouth, winger Marc Pugh has been linked with a move away to Garry Monk's Leeds United.

The 29-year-old was a key player for the Cherries when they got promoted to the Premier League in the 2014/15 season but has found chances hard to come by in recent times on the South Coast.

A move back to the Championship to a side like Leeds United would be the perfect destination for Pugh who is a very talented player at this level.

Garry Monk's Leeds United team have been exceptional recently, sitting in fourth place in the league table, just seven points off the automatic promotion places.

A few signings in January could be exactly what the Whites need to take them to the next level and a player like Marc Pugh would be ideal for them.

So here is the potential new-look Leeds United midfield including Marc Pugh......

CDM - Kalvin Phillips

The 21-year-old has arguably been one of the best players this season and has nailed down his place in the Leeds United midfield.

After winning the young player of the month award in October, Phillips has continued to improve and develop his game and has been superb in the absence of club captain Liam Bridcutt.

Any Leeds midfield must include Phillips after the January transfer window.

CDM - Liam Bridcutt

After breaking his foot in the first few games of the season, the return of Liam Bridcutt means Leeds United are only going to get better.

The club captain has still been missed despite Leeds' impressive run of form and Bridcutt will offer defensive solidarity, and leadership in the heart of the midfield.

A midfield partnership between Phillips and Bridcutt has potential to be one of the best in the league with the likes of Ronaldo Vieira and Eunan O'Kane providing cover on the bench.

RM - Hadi Sacko

Sacko has already proved that on his day he can be one of the most feared wingers in the Championship.

His pace, skill and power has already terrorised a number of Championship defences already this season and he will be a vital player in their push for promotion this season.

Additionally, his service for Chris Wood and the other Leeds forwards has proved effective this season and he is quickly becoming an important player.

CAM - Kemar Roofe

Leeds' Kemar Roofe reacts after hitting the post

The former Oxford United man has struggled to re-discover the form that led to Garry Monk signing him in the first place, but after scoring a big goal against Aston Villa on Saturday it may just help him fully settle into life at Elland Road.

There is no question that Roofe has talent, though he now needs to score goals consistently and continue to impress in order to make a name for himself.

Nonetheless, a new-look Leeds midfield should include Kemar Roofe.

LM - Marc Pugh

If Pugh does make the move to Elland Road in January then he could complete the new-look Leeds United midfield.

Pugh's ability to get forward, beat the full backs, deliver crosses and score the odd crucial goal is exactly what Garry Monk and his side need to help take them to the next level.

His experience of promotion with AFC Bournemouth will also be beneficial as the Whites look to reach the place they arguably belong, the Premier League.
