It is a worrying time to be an Aston Villa time as financial concerns have lead to an uncertain summer ahead at Villa Park.
In order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, Aston Villa need to raise some cash quickly and they will therefore need to sell some star players, including academy product Jack Grealish.
After narrowly missing out on promotion via the play-offs, Steve Bruce’s squad may now be decimated and he hardly has any money to fund new additions.
The Villans will mainly be reliant on loan deals and free transfers to strengthen their current options.
By the opening game of the season – which is once again against Bruce’s former side Hull City – Aston Villa’s squad could look very different.
Here is the midfield that Bruce could select for their opening fixture, taking into account the potential sales of key players.
