At one point this season, it looked as though the play-offs might be on the cards for QPR.

They were sat in the top six and were picking up some excellent results. Their form though has since dipped and the Hoops are now in tenth.

The race for a play-off spot is close though and with three games left - and only a three point gap between themselves and Sheffield United in sixth - there is still a chance that they could sneak into the top six again.

Whether they manage it or not, QPR will have some clearing out to do this summer. There are a number of players whose contracts are up and Mark Warburton will have to decide whether or not he feels some of them are worthy of a new deal or not.

With that in mind then, here are the Hoops players that could be on their way to a new club this summer unless they are offered fresh terms.

Yoann Barbet

Considering that Barbet has featured heavily for QPR this season - and has also looked like one of their brightest players - you would expect QPR to be scrambling to get a new deal on the table for him.

With the season coming to a close though, the 28-year-old still doesn't have a new contract agreed. That's despite playing in 39 league games with two goals and one assist.

He's been a rock at the back and Mark Warburton will certainly want him back if he can - otherwise, there will be a player on the market here on a free who could be a real steal for another club.

Moses Odubajo

The 28-year-old joined QPR at the beginning of the season on a short-term deal and whilst he does have the option to extend his contract by an additional year, it has not been triggered yet.

That means the winger could end up on the free agents market come the summer window. He's been used often in rotation - 28 league games and three assists suggests a player that is handy to have but isn't always a regular - but has been decent enough when selected.

However, if he is not deemed as important to the squad, then he too could be allowed to leave the club already during the summer window.

Dominic Ball

Ball's season has been a strange one so far. He featured heavily for the club at the beginning of the season but has found gametime a lot harder to come by since the turn of the year and now spends more time on the bench.

With just 19 Championship outings this campaign, he has had to make do with sitting on the bench and not even getting a run out over the last few weeks. In fact, his last appearance came back in February.

If Warburton is no longer a fan of Ball, then his contract is up in the summer - and he could be on his way to pastures new.

Albert Adomah

The 34-year-old has proven he still has plenty of gas left in the tank by playing in 30 Championship games this season, bagging two goals and three assists and often looking really exciting when on the ball and bombing it down the right flank.

However, the experienced head has yet to be offered fresh terms too, with his deal set to run out in summer. Football League World exclusive sources have previously revealed that there have been plans to potentially extend his stay but as of yet, there is no fresh contract on the table for him.

Lee Wallace

Wallace has recently been sidelined with an injury and despite previously looking solid for the Hoops, has found gametime therefore harder to come by this season.

He's managed a total of 21 league appearances so far with two assists and the winger has fallen down the pecking order with the Hoops to boot. At 34-years-old, there might be other options that Warburton prefers and he could end up a free agent this summer window.

David Marshall

The 37-year-old is another player who has suffered with injuries recently and it has meant that he too has fallen down the QPR pecking order.

Having only joined the club from Derby in January on a short-term deal, he was trusted straight away with the number one jersey. He managed 11 games and three clean sheets before being sidelined and has now had to sit out and try and recover from his injury.

However, with his contract running out in the summer, the Hoops might decide to simply cut their losses with the shot-stopper having only signed him in the winter window and allow him to leave on a free.

Keiren Westwood

If David Marshall doesn't leave, then Keiren Westwood certainly could.

The 37-year-old was snapped up as another QPR stand-in when Marshall became injured and has now taken over shot-stopping duties in the interim. He's played in just five league games so far but has managed one clean sheet despite being out of the game for a substantial amount of time after leaving Sheffield Wednesday.

However, having only been a very temporary signing, the chances are he could be back looking for a club this summer window.

Charlie Owens

The final name on this list is Charlie Owens, who has still to play a league game for QPR this season.

He's played twice for the club since returning from a loan spell with Wycombe back in 2019 and despite being kept on at the club as an option since then - and perhaps with some seeing potential - he has struggled to get onto the field.

His contract is up for renewal again this summer - but this time, he might not be handed fresh terms.
