In what has been a relatively strong campaign in their return to League One, Bolton Wanderers currently sit 11th in the third-tier standings.

The Trotters, who enjoyed an excellent first half of 2021 to confirm promotion back to League One, have shown some excellent signs during this campaign, with a top-six finish fast emerging as an objective for next year.

Ian Evatt's side have averaged picking up 2 PPG since mid-January and will be eager to get the next campaign started and will be equally as ready for the summer transfer window.

Here, we take a look at the Bolton players who have a contract expiring this summer...

Alex Baptiste

Five years after moving on from Bolton, Alex Baptiste returned to the University of Bolton Stadium in August 2020.

The 36-year-old played an integral role in the club's promotion from League Two last time out, however, he has been confined to just 584 minutes of third-tier football this season.

Initially signing on a one-year contract, the defender's deal with the Trotters was extended for another year last May.

Andrew Tutte

Andrew Tutte is another who initially signed in the summer of 2020 and saw their deal extended for another 12 months after promotion back to the third-tier was confirmed.

Tutte's progress with the Trotters has been hampered by a hamstring injury that he picked up back in September.

Whilst he is nearing a return, it remains to be seen if he sees any more minutes with the Trotters, with three games left to go.

Nathan Delfouneso

Nathan Delfouneso joined Bolton back during the summer of 2020, penning down a two-year contract during the process.

Scoring six and assisting a further four in 44 league games for the Trotters last time out, he has been unable to have as much influence this time around.

In fact, his lack of game time in a Bolton shirt this season has led to a temporary move away from the University of Bolton Stadium, with Bradford City agreeing a deal back in January.

Liam Edwards

Liam Edwards is another whose time at Bolton has been completely disrupted by injury, with the 25-year-old missing 22 months of competitive action as a result.

The defender is currently on loan in the National League North with Southport and has a contract that expires in 2022.

The only times he has represented the Trotters this season was in an EFL Trophy clash against Rochdale, where he was only afforded a minute of action.

Liam Gordon

Liam Gordon is yet another player who features on this list who signed for the Trotters back in 2020.

The full-back has featured 13 times in the league for the Trotters this season, seemingly playing in a deputy role to Declan John.

Still 22, it remains to be seen what the future has in store for the young full-back, with Gordon showing glimpses of his potential during the campaign thus far.

Reiss Greenidge

Completing this list is yet another 2020 signing, with Reiss Greenidge signing for the Trotters in August 2020 on a two-year deal.

The 26-year-old arrived at The University of Bolton Stadium after a stint in Norway with Sogndal and Arendal.

Featuring vert infrequently with the Trotters during last season's promotion-winning campaign, Greenidge joined Barnet on a season-long loan ahead of this campaign.
